Postertz KG in Grefrath (Germany) has the iE™ solution offered by the ERP specialist, IRIUM. Today, 6 months after the new software came into operation, the Manager, Mr. Christoph Schmitz, is satisfied. "The new software package with its Linux operating system, and Windows workstations, is working very well. Server crashes are a thing of the past."
Postertz is a John Deere dealer with 45 employees. As well as the main site, there are 2 subsidiaries in Heinsberg and Mönchengladbach as well as a GEA milking machine business in Wolmirstedt (Germany).
In March 2013, IRIUM introduced the ERP, iE™, with 30 licences on the sites in Grefrath and Heinsberg. "It is a solution made up of different modules which support distributors of agricultural machinery in all their management processes", explains Jérôme Morel, Marketing Manager for IRIUM Deutschland. "The computer system management modules can be configured and have all the necessary functionalities – for contact with clients, communications with the manufacturer, After-Sales Service operations, commercial management and connection to financial management."
Jérôme Morel is especially satisfied with this new client because Postertz is the first German John Deere dealer to use the iE™ solution from IRIUM. "For IRIUM Deutschland it is a big step forward." IRIUM is the leading company for ERP solutions for agricultural machinery on the French market. IRIUM is one of the solutions recommended by John Deere in France and constantly works hand-in-hand with the manufacturer to produce interfaces between IRIUM software, the manufacturer's systems and those of its clients. "This is why IRIUM software has a multitude of interfaces with John Deere and its management modules", explained Morel.
"In the end it was the multitude of interfaces with John Deere which convinced us", explained Christoph Schmitz who manages the company with his father, Karl-Heinz. With the interfaces the agricultural machinery distributor can easily send orders for machines and parts. For example, an automated order proposition calculates the required quantities and supplies key information about articles. Transmission of delivery notes from John Deere also takes place automatically. Management of guarantees via the interface considerably reduces manual operations.
"We save a lot of time with the new system in our day-to-day business", notes Mr. Schmitz, who quotes as an example the orders with the wholesaler, Kramp. As a result of the incorporation of an interface, the staff of Postertz can order parts more quickly and easily than before.
Although Mr. Schmitz said he is satisfied with the successful migration that the IRIUM team arranged and performed so well in a short time, he did not stop there. "We started with what was most important to us", explained Mr. Schmitz, who envisages installing the system on his other sites and also using available John Deere interfaces. A top priority is the second-hand machine interface. The data can be sent to the manufacturer directly from the IRIUM information system (second-hand equipment index).
